The Chevrolet
Camaro concept which appeared at the 2006 Detroit
Motor Show was followed up a year later at the 2007 Detroit
Show with the Camaro Convertible concept.
Like the hardtop Camaro concept, the convertible Camaro
relies almost entirely on the first generation of the
car (1967 - 1969), for design influences. Aside from the
roof, the exterior and interior styling of the two cars
is almost identical.
The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is powered by the same
400 horsepower, 6 litre LS2 V8, mated to a six speed manual
gearbox found in the Camaro coupe.
Unlike the hardtop Camaro Concept which was designed to
see if production of such a car was feasible. It was.
The Camaro Convertible will go into production shortly
after the coupe goes into showrooms.
